The MINT 400 is the oldest off-road race in America. Since its inception in 1968, “The Great American Off-road Race” has drawn the best racers from across the globe to fight for the top of the podium. Held on the border of California and Nevada, drivers navigate the fast & lose 400-mile course through the day and into the night. The 2026 race was full of highlights: most notably FOX Live Valve equipped cars sweeping the Limited Race podium.

Brock Heger backed up his victories from the Dakar Rally and King of the Hammers Desert Race with a first place at this year’s MINT 400. Heger piloted his Polaris RZR to an overall Limited class win, with a final time of 6:57:56. Following shortly behind was Mitch Guthrie (7:06:40) in his Polaris RZR and Phil Burton (7:13:15) driving his Can-Am Maverick into 3rd to round out the podium.

Our successes in the Limited Race don’t stop at the podium. FOX athletes secured the top 7 positions with Ethan Groom, Eliott Watson, Brody Aikins, and Cayden Maccachren respectively.

5 of the 7 top cars in the Limited Race were equipped with Live Valve systems. Live Valve is a Semi-Active system comprised of dampers, sensors, an ECU, and an algorithm controlling it all. The system is constantly reading the terrain, thinking, and adjusting dampers so that all tires can be on the ground driving power. Adjustments happen in a fraction of a second, going from open to close, and over the course of a race there will be 1000’s of adjustments, leading to minutes of advantage. One of the major benefits for the drivers is not having to think if they have the correct suspension setting, with Live Valve they have the perfect tune for every terrain.
Until recently, FOX’s Live Valve technology has only been accessible to elite racers and end users driving vehicles such as FORD Raptors or Polaris RZRs. Announced in November of 2025, Live Valve is now available as an aftermarket solution. Vehicle platforms include:
- FORD Bronco & 2021-ON F-150
- Jeep Gladiator (JT) & Wrangler (JL)
- 2024+ Toyota Tacoma
These electronic suspension systems draw lineage to their counterparts in the Motorsports racing world, benefiting from years of testing and winning at the hands of elite racers. Like all our technologies here at FOX, they are born and tested in Race. Interested in learning more about Live Valve and how you can equip your vehicle with it? Click here link!
