Born out of the FOX Racing Applications Development (RAD) program and proven on Ford Raptor vehicles, Live Valve senses terrain and driver inputs 400 times a second to adapt your vehicle's suspension, all before you can think it. And now with aftermarket fitment kits for popular truck and SUV models, it’s available to more drivers than ever before.

THE SEMI-ACTIVE ADVANTAGE

Traditional passive suspension has a fixed level of damping in each shock that needs to balance comfort and performance in a wide variety of terrain and conditions. The advantage of a semi-active suspension system is that it adjusts for every type of condition, whether you’re on pavement, rock crawling or racing in the desert. With Live Valve, we pushed the potential of semi-active suspension with an industry-leading algorithm that listens to everything happening to your vehicle in the moment—bumps, cornering forces, even your acceleration and braking—and adapts to it instantly.

Live Valve’s real-time, closed-loop control system well outpaces any human reaction time. It can sense, interpret and adapt to both the external environment and the driver’s input, faster than the human brain can think it. It enhances your driving style while staying completely in sync with the road surface. Live Valve isn’t just smart. It’s suspension with instinct.

HOW WE ENGINEERED INSTINCT

  • SENSE THE TERRAIN

    The Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) senses the vehicle’s pitch, yaw and roll. Combined with CAN Bus data, Live Valve senses the terrain, and how you drive.

  • INTERPRET THE DATA

    The Live Valve ECU houses Live IQ, which interprets sensor data incredibly fast before signaling desired compression at each shock.

  • ADAPT THE SUSPENSION

    Each Factory Race Series Internal Bypass shock is equipped with an electronic solenoid, which can adjust damping in the moment.

SENSE THE TERRAIN

The Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) senses the vehicle’s pitch, yaw and roll. Combined with CAN Bus data such as speed, steering wheel angle, brake pressure and torque request (throttle), Live Valve gains a complete picture of what is happening to the vehicle, in every moment.

INTERPRET THE DATA

The Live Valve ECU houses Live IQ, which interprets IMU and CAN Bus sensor data and calculates precise damping force needed at each wheel, all in fractions of a second. Every physical force on the vehicle chassis is accounted for, from brake dive, acceleration squat, corner velocity, pitch/yaw/roll, G-outs and jumps.

ADAPT THE SUSPENSION

Each Factory Race Series Internal Bypass shock is equipped with an electronic solenoid, which can adjust damping in the moment. Live IQ can be set to certain modes for its baseline settings but is always adapting to the terrain and driver inputs that affect your truck’s chassis.

By sensing brake pressure, torque request (throttle) and physical acceleration of the vehicle, Live Valve increases damping to lessen dive and squat respectively, managing weight transfer for best-in-class vehicle performance and ride feel.

CORNERING

CONFIDENCE IN TURN

Live Valve monitors your steering angle and acceleration throughout the corner and adds compression to the outside dampers as needed, resisting chassis roll and giving you cornering confidence like never before.

HIGH SPEED VARIABLE TERRAIN

STAY LEVEL HEADED

Live Valve increases damping for more support during big bump events and lessens damping when hitting small bumps (like washboard road conditions) for additional comfort. Whatever terrain you drive over, Live Valve instantly adapts.

LOW SPEED OBSTACLES

HIGH GRIP IN LOW RANGE

Adjust damping to allow full articulation and droop, without becoming too compliant. This balance allows you to climb up a feature in comfort and descend it in control—without excessive head toss—for a more pleasant off-roading experience.
